Your Sign Proof: Part Two
Is Everything Scaled Correctly?
Look over the basic design layout – is everything proportional? The size and placement of your text and images is very important, so you must make sure it is exactly the way you want.
Check the Colors
Make sure to discuss your chosen color scheme with your designer when going through the planning phase. Sometimes the color you see on your screen is slightly different from the one that will be printed, so you may want to be prepared for a slight difference. Of course, you can always ask your designer for suggestions on alternatives that are close to what you had in mind, but will transfer exactly from screen to print.
Handle (or Know) the Material
It is important to be familiar with the material your sign, poster, banner, trade show tablecloth, or other promotional pieces will be printed on. This will give you a clear idea of what the final product will look and feel like, as well as what kind of maintenance or cleaning you will have to do to keep it looking new and professional.
Get a Second Opinion
Finally, it is always a good idea to get a second opinion on your project before signing off on it. Ask a customer, colleague, family member, or friend what they think of the entire design. You may really like it, but come to find that your customers don’t! And in the end, it is their opinion that matters the most.
