You’ll want colors that pop, but stay away from intrusive hues. Neon colors might catch the eye, but it’s not always flattering.
Beyond the design of the sign, the message is equally important. It needs to be clear and concise so that the viewer knows what you’re trying to convey in seconds. Depending on the size and purpose of the sign, this typically means 3 – 5 words maximum.
Having ample white space on your sign helps with legibility and makes it appear more professional. You want your sign to deliver your message to the community in an attractive way. A cluttered sign simply looks sloppy and oftentimes the message is lost in translation.
